Two good ole Kentucky boys were sitting outside one day having a beer, when one asked the other, “Are you a Democrat or a Republican.”

His friend responded, “Ain’t neither. These days you’re either a Liberal or a Conservative.”

His friend asked, “What’s the difference?”

“Well, the best way I can liken to explain it is, picture a man drowning fifty feet out in a lake. If a Conservative comes by and spies that man, he’ll throw him a twenty-five foot rope, making him swim the first twenty-five feet to prove he can help himself. Now, if a Liberal comes by and sees the same thing, he’ll throw the man a fifty foot rope. But then he’ll turn lose of his end and run off and do other good deeds.”
